Artist Finds Success With Dinner Illustrations

Obscure artist, Tom Hicks, has recently sold two paintings rumored to be in the millions!

Businesses in downtown Waukesha were buzzing last week as Tom Hicks walked from tavern to bar in his newly purchased tuxedo with checkbook in hand. Stunned proprietors and bartenders up and down Main Street commented on the artist’s recent sales of his latest works.

“He had that new suit on and really looked nice. Smelled good, too. Usually he smells like cigar smoke, bourbon and, well, like wet carpeting. I was set to throw him out of the bar again until he got out that checkbook and paid off his tab from the last couple of months.” Said James (Toots) Riley at the Peoples Park Restaurant. Lost Masterpieces Found In Wisconsin Basement!

A group of special trained U.S. troops uncovered a treasure of original paintings by obscure master Tom Hicks. Army personnel at the scene would not comment on the raid of a suburban home in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Neighbors who were interviewed at the scene said that four dark vehicles were seen parked at odd angles in front of the house and that several men in camouflage uniforms stormed the front of the home early in the morning. Neighbor Mr. Albert Pernifesky told reporters, ”One of them guys looked like George Clooney. So I think maybe it was all part of that Nazi movie about stolen art. I always thought that the guy who lives here was strange. You’d see him cutting his lawn while wearing a monocle and an army helmet. He had a German shepherd dog that was always by his side. For a long time we thought he was just some blind guy with a head injury.” Continue reading

Exhibitionist Hangs in Library

Obscure artist Tom Hicks has been invited to exhibit his paintings at the Waukesha, Wisconsin Library.

“I’m filling a 32 foot wall behind the computer area on the first floor I paint on pretty big canvases because I don’t like to wear my glasses when I work. I filled the entire space with just 8 of my paintings.” said Hicks.

Disqualified Art Contest Winner “Frankie Loves the Polka”

Minkskaputka, Croatia:

Officers of the International Polka Festival issued a statement this week retracting the award for the previously selected 2014 International Polka Festival logo art.

“It is with great sadness that we must reject the winning entry from an obscure Wisconsin, U.S.A. artist.” Said Igor Slevintofsky, Committee Chairman.  “This would have been the first time the committee has selected an artist outside of Europe since 1937.” Continue reading

Herbert Lampiere, Owner and CEO of Lampiere Industries has purchased two original works by obscure artist, Tom Hicks of Waukesha, Wisconsin for an undisclosed, but rumored to be enormous, amount.

When asked for comment Mr. Lampiere replied: “Well, Yes. I paid a lot for them, but it’s a far more reasonable price than an auction at Christies. I like to stare at the “Scuba Diver” one while soaking in my tub. Just thinking of how peaceful life in that tube might be. The other one looks like me when I was a younger man. That’s why I bought the pair.”

Hicks was quoted by the owner of Almont Gallery as saying: “Huh? Oh, Those two? I’m calling them my ‘Watersports Period.’ I had enough of that crap. I’m going back to doing pet animal portraits. That’s where the real money is.”

Extraordinary Treasure Wealth Shared by Marooned Seaman!

Happy Birthday Nolan!

pirate_grandpa

I’ve been on another Pirate adventure since I saw you at New Year’s Eve. I went to Florida and signed on to the crew of a whaling ship called “China Blubber”. We sailed through the Bahama Islands on our way to Japan and were attacked by Pirates!

The Pirates took over the ship and I didn’t wait to find out what would happen next. I slipped over the side and swam to the shore of a tiny island.  None of my shipmates made it. They all sailed off with the Pirates and left me marooned. There were a few natives on the island and they were very nice to me. They fed me fish and coconuts and told me stories about buried pirate treasure. Continue reading
